The Dress

Arnold Scaasi designed for Eva Haynal Forsyth (1990) vintage, white, raw silk, wedding gown. Unique style with very detailed beading, bugle beads and pearl design. All hand sewn. 100+ hours. (No sequins!) Medium length train, that bustles in the back, under the detachable bow. Comes with a crinoline for a fuller look. (Pictured without the crinoline.) Off the shoulders with 3/4 sleeves, but can be updated by removing sleeves and bow, if desired. (Some pictures with sleeves hidden.) There is no size tag but dress was fitted for approximately 5'2" height, approximately 118 lbs. That converts to Size 2-4? (Today’s sizes are so different and, unfortunately I don’t recall exact measurements.)

Condition is near perfect. Gown was dry-cleaned and vacuum sealed days after the wedding. Was never opened until 2020. Very tiny spot on skirt. Barely noticeable. Seen in picture of the bottom of the gown. (seventh picture) Zoom in on the pics to see close up condition and incredible detail.

Arnold Isaacs (May 8, 1930 – August 3, 2015), known as Arnold Scaasi, was a Canadian fashion designer who has created gowns for First Ladies Mamie Eisenhower, Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush, in addition to such notable personalities as Joan Crawford, Ivana Trump, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, Lauren Bacall, Diahann Carroll, Elizabeth Taylor, Catherine Deneuve, Brooke Astor, Arlene Francis, Mitzi Gaynor and Mary Tyler Moore.

Trivia: He reversed the letters of his last name!
